Meadow Garden

Home to frogs, newts, dragonflies as well as larger mammals including foxes, badgers and plenty of mice and voles our beautiful meadow and pond area is a haven for both wildlife and visitors.

It’s a quiet place to enjoy nature in the centre of our busy village.

Uncultivated and unsprayed for over 25 years, we have introduced  wild meadow flowers as the grasses had taken over. Rough areas of nettles, buddleia and brambles are kept for the butterflies.

The Wildlife garden is seasonally roped off to protect the newly established wildflowers, but our beautiful pond area is always accessible to enjoy.

Wildlife Pond

An important environmental asset to the meadow garden.

Designed to encourage a wide range of native animals and insects to breed and feed, this wet area provides a year round safe haven.

Thank you on behalf of the HAC team (and the local wildlife!) to all the amazing volunteers and people that donated their time, energy and funds to make this project possible.
