LEARNING
Nicky will demo the stages of a painting and watercolour techniques which you will then use yourself during the day to create your own painting in a vibrant and loose watercolour style, Giving demos and one to one guidance and support to help your painting skills progress and loosen up your style to achieve lively lucid artworks.
You can transfer the tips, tricks and knowledge Nicky offers to many subject matters in watercolour. Group size - 6 - 10 to allow for lots of personal guidance

Fees are none refundable, however transfer to another workshop up to 14 days prior to course may be arranged, cancellation 14 days prior to class forfeits fee ( exemption for Covid government requirements).
Suitable for adults (Mixed level) - although some experience even if just a little is helpful as the tutor covers lots of technique but does not cover very basic knowledge during a general workshop so it would not be appropriate for an absolute beginner, although if you have a have a go attitude then do contact the tutor direct to discuss.

PROGRESS
This monthly workshop as part of a sequence of monthly watercolour workshops being introduced in 2022 on the first Tuesday of each month at Haddenham Art Centre, Cambridgeshire. Workshops hosted by friendly, experienced professional artist and tutor Nicky Hunter (occasionally supported by fellow professional artist Ian McManus some months as a guest tutor in her absence or collaborating in tandem).
The aim of the workshops are to build continuity so students can attend regularly to progress their watercolour skills with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable artist and tutor. No obligation to attend all but drop in and try a couple of months or book every month and experience your skill and competence grow with in a friendly, familiar group setting in a friendly, inspiring creative environment.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Nicky Hunter is a professional water colour artist and tutor specialising in painting florals but inspired by many other colourful and light filled subjects too. Nicky teaches regular watercolour workshops in the Buckinghamshire & Northamptonshire with a loyal following of students who love to learn how to paint florals, birds and other beautiful things from nature, she is guest tutor at other prestigious art schools and art groups around the country . Nicky teaches many styles from traditional botanical illustration and painting but the loose and lively watercolour style appeals the most to herself and her students. Her teaching style is enthusiastic and generous and you are sure to enjoy and develop your techniques working with her whether you wish to build on some basic experience and refine your painting skills or liberate them and become freer and more expressive with your water colour painting.
Nicky’s love for painting in watercolour and her illustration skills have developed over 20 years designing printed patterns for textiles for many well known UK brands and international fashion and interior designers and fashion houses, winning various industry awards. It’s very likely you have worn one of her designs at some point. Currently her focus and passion is painting and teaching others the skills to blossom in their own artwork .
