About the movie:

Set in 1932 in the Mississippi Delta, it stars Michael B. Jordan in dual roles as criminal twin brothers (Smoke and Stack) who leave their troubled past working for Al Capone's Chicago syndicate and return to their hometown for a fresh start in the Jim Crow South

Using cash from their past exploits, they open a local juke joint (a blues club) to give their hard-working community a night of catharsis and freedom.

The club comes under siege when a trio of bloodthirsty vampires arrives, drawn to the otherworldly musical talent of a young local blues prodigy named Sammie.

Sinners is more of a tense, atmospheric period thriller and racial allegory with supernatural vampire elements than a traditional, jump-scare-heavy horror movie.

If you dislike traditional slasher flicks or nonstop jump scares, Sinners leans heavily into drama, culture, and blues music, making it a gripping experience even for non-horror fans—though it still delivers dark and bloody moments.
