A joint exhibition showcasing colour and texture across two very different mediums.
Hilary and Christines artworks and sculptures will be on display and for sale for a limited period during April and May.
Hilary Marshall - Contemporary Mixed Media Artist
Hilary’s inspiration is taken from the natural world as both experience and memory. She creates a visual interpretation through a combination of abstract shapes, marks and gestures. Colour plays an integral part in her work, specifically how different colour pallets work together - leading her to investigate translucency and layering, often suspending images to achieve interesting effects and shadows. This exploration has led to her current work having a sense of strength and fragility co-existing.
Christine Smith - Glass Artist
A local maker, Christine returned to creativity a few years ago, and is now enjoying being a full-time glass artist. She originally studied Ceramics & Surface Pattern, but discovered glass making through her existing kiln knowledge and drive to experiment.
“I love the transparency and how changing light effects the glass. I use colour and texture to create illustrations, whether in picture or bowl form. My main priority when making is to have fun! Life's too short for anything less. “
