Enjoy a relaxed introduction to ballpoint pen to draw shapes and textures in trees, wild plants and landscapes.
To coincide with the opening of her exhibition, Gail Hoban will be running a workshop to show how to get started using ballpoint pens in art. You will learn how look at and draw the wonderful patterns created by trees and wild plants. You will then work from real life objects or photos. You are welcome to bring along your own inspiration, photos, branches, seeds, flowers. Gail encourages the use of ballpoint pens to develop confident drawing, with surprisingly subtle and energetic effects. You can extend what you learn beyond the workshop to draw a range of native trees and plants and their textures.
What to bring:
Gail will bring plenty of inspiration, but if you have special trees, flowers or photos you want to draw from please bring along. Please Note: It's easier to work from printed out photos rather than from your phone.
