A fun 2 day workshop creating in a concertina sketchbook on the theme of Gardens/Plants/Allotments

Come along and develop your pages in a creative and supportive workshop.

We will work from observation, but much more importance is placed on mark making and responding to materials and techniques. Karen will lead you through the different wet and dry techniques to build up layers in your book.

What to bring:

• A5 concertina sketchbook - amazon, hobbycraft, the college shop

• Inks - any

• A couple of medium paint brushes for watercolour

• Collage papers on garden theme/colours

• Small folder

• Drawing tools - Pencils/pens/crayons of any kind ( Woodies and caran d’ache are nice)

• Glue stick

• PVA - small pot or acrylic medium

• 4-6 garden images - photocopies in black and white with strong contrast. A4 size.

• Apron

Karen will bring:

• Gesso

• Soft brushes

• Collage papers

• Artgraf

• Spare stuff !
