Suitable for children 14+ accompanied by an adult (we just omit the axe part).
Join me for a day learning how to take a log of green wood, trim it with an axe, draw it to shape using a shave horse and a draw knife and then use the pole lathe to turn your piece into an item of your choice.
DISCOVER HOW TO:
- Use the various hand tools and pieces of equipment traditionally employed in green woodworking
- Enjoy the mindful nature of paring wood using the draw knife & how satisfying it can be to create something without the use of power tools
Weather permitting, the workshop will take place outside in the Haddenham Arts Centre gardens or in the large indoor workshop.
At the end of the session, you will have created a woodturned piece to be proud of!
Haddenham Arts Centre café will be open where you can have lunch - workshop participants are entitled to a 10% discount - do pre-order when you arrive and let the staff know you are a student - or you are of course welcome to bring your own packed lunch or use facilities in the village.
This would make a fabulous CRAFTY GIFT for someone - so drop us a line and we can post/email you/the recipient a complimentary personalised gift certificate for this experience.
