Ceramics & Glass Trinket Dishes

During this workshop, Daniela will teach you how to make a slab-rolled shape. You will build small - circa 1cm high - coiled walls around the perimeter of your shape. You can add ‘internal’ walls to form separate compartments. Daniela will bring broken glass in various colours for you to choose from and to fill the shapes and compartments. The shape which forms the base of your design should be roughly a bit bigger than a palm. It will be crucially important to join the coils very well to the base to avoid any leakage of glass. You can come with your own design.

This workshop is a variation of ‘pinch pot workshops with glass’ which you may have been to before, but it is not essential to have done the pinch-pot workshop in the past.

Due to the handling of broken glass, the participants must be 16 years+.

Daniela will fire your creations in her kiln and they will be available to collect from the arts centre following the workshop.
